Cubamenco

Cubamenco is a word I created to describe two cultures of music fused together: "Cuban" and "Flamenco". On this recording you will find flavours of the two styles represented in a non-traditional way where old world meets new.

In my travels I have had the pleasure to perform with some of the best Cuban musicians in the world, one being the legendary Compay Segundo from the Buena Vista Social Club Band.

I dedicate the track titled "Compay" in his memory. We were about to record a track together just before he became ill and past away in 2003 at the age of 95. I'm thankful and honored to have shared the stage with him. I really wanted to capture the timeless beauty of the old recordings, so you will find a more raw and live sound with this project.
